Two youths have died after a school bus and a motorcycle collided in Mechinagar, Jhapa.
According to the District Police Office, Jhapa, two youths died in an accident that occurred in front of Sanjay Cement Factory in Mechinagar Municipality-7 at around 5:20 pm on Wednesday.
A bus (Me 1 Ka 391) of Holy Bell English Boarding School, which was heading towards Dhulabari from Gomansari, and a motorcycle (Me 9 Pa 9904) coming from the opposite direction collided with each other.
Ajay Majhi, 32, a resident of Galgaliya, Kishanganj, India, and Ajay Rajbanshi, 21, a resident of Mechinagar-7, who were riding the motorcycle, were seriously injured in the accident. Both were sent to the Provincial Hospital, Bhadrapur for treatment, but doctors declared them dead at 5:50 pm.
The bodies of both the deceased are currently kept at the Provincial Hospital, Bhadrapur, according to the police.
The driver of the bus involved in the accident, Niren Dhimal, 45, a resident of Mechinagar-11, has been taken into custody by the Area Police Office, Dhulabari. The crashed bus and motorcycle have been kept at the Area Police Office, Kakadbhitta.
