The 55 MW electricity generation from the river flowing through the border of Taplejung and Panchthar has been disrupted due to rain and floods. The flood that hit Kabeli and Indrawati Khola on Friday night has disrupted the generation of four projects, including the 25 MW Kabeli ‘B-1’. The electricity generated here has been connected to the Amarpur Substation in Panchthar.

It is reported that the floods in Kabeli and Indrawati Khola have damaged the structure of the projects. The Amarpur Substation has reported that the electricity generated from two projects generated from Kabeli Khola and two projects generated from Indrawati Khola has been disrupted.

The electricity generated from the 25 MW Kabeli Khola and 10 MW Kabeli ‘B-1’ casket hydropower project of Arun Kabeli Power Limited has been disrupted. According to Lekhraj Neupane, an employee of Arun Kabeli Power Limited, the flood has damaged the structure including the intake of the project. The project has been stalled due to the accumulation of stones, mud and wood (muda) carried by the flood in the dam and intake of Kabeli B-1.

The production of 9.9 MW capacity of Inwakhola produced by Ridi Hydropower Limited and 9.7 MW capacity of Inwa Hydropower Limited produced from Indrawati Khola itself has been stalled. According to Mausam Sailing, an employee of Inwa Hydropower Limited, the flood in the river has damaged the structure including the intake, pipeline, power house and other structures at the dam site.
