The Auditor General's report has shown embezzlement of Rs 74.262 crore in eight local levels of Panchthar.
According to the 63rd annual report of the Auditor General, out of the amount audited in the last fiscal year 2081/82, about Rs 75 million was found to be embezzled.
According to the report, the highest embezzlement in percentage terms was seen in Yangwarak Rural Municipality. Out of the Rs 865.90 crore audited in this municipality, Rs 17.451 crore was found to be embezzled. The lowest embezzlement in the district was seen in Falgunanda Rural Municipality. Out of the Rs 1.294230 crore audited here, Rs 5.372 crore was found to be embezzled.
