Saraswati Secondary School in Diktel is going to teach science subjects for free in grades 11 and 12. Starting from the current academic session, science subjects will be taught free in grade 11 and grade 12 in the upcoming academic session.

Since students from low economic status cannot study science subjects, biology and computer science subjects will be taught free in grade 11 and grade 12 in the upcoming academic session, targeting them, said the school's principal Shivahari Dhakal.

'In a place like Khotang, not everyone has the financial means to study science subjects,' Dhakal said, 'Keeping in mind the situation of not being able to study due to money, arrangements have been made to teach biology and computer science subjects for free in grade 11 and grade 12 in the upcoming academic session.' The annual fee for the science faculty here is Rs 15,000.

Science subjects have been taught in the school for the past three years. The school is the only educational institution in the district that teaches science. Dhakal said that since the Nepal government provides an annual grant of Rs. 4.5 million for the science promotion program, it will be enough to purchase educational materials, so students who want to study science will be taught free of charge. The school has also stated that the entrance exam for Biology and Computer Science for Class 11 will be held on Jestha 3.

In the 2082 SEE, Deepika Shrestha of the school scored the highest GPA of 3.86 among community schools. Similarly, Spandana Rai of Tribhuvan Secondary School in Aiselukhark came second with 3.83 GPA, and Danisha Adhikari of Saraswati Secondary School scored 3.82 GPA.
