The Bhedetar-Namje section of the Bhedetar-Rabirake road, which was blocked since Tuesday evening due to landslides and mudslides, has been reopened. The road has been reopened after the landslide in the Thumki area was cleared.
The APCO Infratech construction company, which was responsible for the construction of the road, cleared the landslide after a day of efforts. With the opening of the road, transportation vehicles and passenger vehicles that were blocked towards Namje and Bhedetar have left for their destinations.
Road expansion work is currently underway in the area in preparation for blacktopping the road. The road has been repeatedly blocked due to landslides from the slope that became weak during construction. Passengers travel to Ilam and Panchthar via this road.
