Chotlung Park in Basantapur, Tehrathum, is now resonating not only with the colors of the Laligurans, but also with literature and culture. The Laligurans Festival organized by the Laligurans Municipality from April 20 to 24 has added new energy to the tourism promotion of the Tinjure-Milke-Jalajle region (TMJ).

The festival has been organized with the objective of preserving and promoting the natural heritage, original culture and local identity of this region, known as the capital of Gurans. Arjun Mabohang, Mayor of Laligurans Municipality, said that the festival has become an important medium to spread awareness about environmental protection and a nature-friendly lifestyle.

'To live a nature-friendly life, it is essential to protect the environment, and everyone's role is necessary in it,' he said. Environmental protection is the first condition for living a nature-friendly life. According to Mayor Mabohang, the program was organized with the objective of finding the role of the government, writers, organizations and locals in environmental protection.

The festival, which was held for five days, exhibited and sold local products including traditional dishes, organic food, Dhaka cloth. Chief Mabohang said that a Gurans observation program was also included in Chotlung Park, Living Yuma Museum and the TMJ area. Literary activities also had a special place in the festival organized at Chotlung Park. About 27 poets and writers, including senior writer Upendra Subba, recited their works in the literary symposium. Writers including Chandra Gurung, Raj Manglak, Pradeep Menyangwo, Heman Yatri, Seema Abhash, Gagan Yokpangden, Kavita Rai, Prabin Khaling Rai, presented various aspects of society, love, pain and life through their works.

The writers were able to connect emotionally with the audience by expressing social reality and personal experiences through poetry. Participants said that the literary symposium made the festival even more lively.

The TMJ region is a region rich in biodiversity, with 28 species of guarans found in the world out of the 32 species. The festival, organized with this feature in mind, is expected to make a significant contribution to the promotion of domestic and foreign tourism.

Mayor Mabohang expressed his belief that the festival will preserve local identity and raise awareness about organic lifestyle and environmentally friendly behavior. The program is organized by Laligurans Municipality.
