The Dhankuta administration has sought a written explanation from the heads of three government offices in the district. The administration has sought an explanation citing delays in service delivery, irresponsibility and indifference towards service recipients.
The administration has directed the Drinking Water and Sanitation Division Office, Infrastructure Development Office and Road Division Office to submit a response within three days on Friday. It is said that they have not listened to the problems and complaints of service recipients, have not shown promptness in management and have not even attended the meeting called by the Chief District Officer. In addition, they have been asked to submit a progress report so far in the current fiscal year.
Assistant Chief District Officer Laxmi Prasad Regmi said that monitoring has been tightened after delays in the services provided by those offices, weaknesses in work performance and continuous complaints from service recipients increased. He informed that a meeting of the heads of offices in the district held on Baisakh 10 decided to review the service delivery situation and seek an explanation from the concerned bodies.
The administration has also tightened the measures after the heads of those offices stopped attending the meeting of the heads of offices. A verbal complaint was also filed with the District Administration Office against Senior Division Engineer Rajendra Prasad Sah, the head of the Road Division Office, Dhankuta, alleging that he did not answer the phone calls of service recipients, answered them rudely when they did, did not listen to complaints, and showed no interest in management.
According to Regmi, if no response is received within the stipulated three days or the response is not satisfactory, a recommendation will be made to the concerned ministry for action.
