The parties concerned have submitted a memorandum to the Chief District Officer demanding action against those involved in the murder of 27-year-old Resmika of Diprung Chuichumma Rural Municipality-4, Batase. On Bhadra 30, while returning home from Panchami in the same municipality, a gang rape and murder was committed in Ramite of the local Marse Community Forest, and they submitted a memorandum to the Chief District Officer on Wednesday, demanding that those involved be arrested and taken to court.

The memorandum, signed by Dalit Women's Campaign Nepal Kathmandu Treasurer Saraswati Ramdam and Joint Dalit Sangharsh Samiti Khotang Chairman Deepak Thatal, demands that those involved in the murder be identified and punished according to the law, that peace and security be ensured as the victim's family feels unsafe as the person involved in the incident is walking around the village openly, that a high-level investigation team be arranged for a fair and thorough investigation of the incident and the truth be made public, and that appropriate justice and compensation be provided to the victim's family.

A 17-year-old teenager involved in the incident has already been arrested. The victims, however, have been claiming that others were involved in the incident, saying that only one person could have caused such an incident. Deputy Superintendent of Police Prakash Budhathoki has said that further investigation is underway in this matter.
