Power supply in Dhankuta, which was disrupted after a strong windstorm on Monday night, has been partially restored. However, there is still no electricity in the main market of the district headquarters.
According to the Nepal Electricity Authority, Dhankuta Distribution Center, electricity service has been restored in areas including Bhedetar, Hile, Pakhribas and Mulghat. It is said that electricity supply has also been restored in the lower parts of Mahalaxmi Municipality.
However, electricity service in Dhankuta market was disrupted when a pole of a 33 KV transmission line fell in the Chhathar Jorpati area due to the windstorm. Seven poles were broken at one place in the Nigale area of Dhankuta Municipality and the installed transformer was also damaged.
Work is underway to repair the damaged structures and efforts are being made to restore electricity service in the district headquarters, informed Bijuli Prasad Yadav, head of the distribution center. .
