The Dhankuta-Hile road section of the Koshi Highway has been blocked due to heavy rain and wind on Monday evening.

The highway was blocked after a tree fell in the Salleri area near the Dhankuta district headquarters. The road was completely blocked after a tree fell near the Nepali Army's Bhim Dal Battalion barracks located in the district headquarters, informed Superintendent of Police Sharad Kumar Thapa Chhetri of the District Police Office, Dhankuta.

According to him, the sudden wind caused the tree to fall on the road, affecting vehicular movement. The police said that efforts are being made to clear the blocked road.

Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police Thapa Chhetri said that work is underway to collect details of possible physical damage caused by the wind and rain in various places in the district. Although the exact details of the damage have not been received yet, the police said that they are collecting information in coordination with the local level and concerned bodies.
