Panchthar was declared a fully vaccinated district on Sunday after all the doses of vaccines required for all children between birth and 59 months according to their age groups were completed. Panchthar has become the first district out of 77 to declare full vaccination this year.

The number of children in the district is 1,519 children under 11 months, 573 children between 11 and 15 months, 1,408 children between 15 and 23 months, and 5,604 children between 24 and 59 months.

Ramraj Angdembe, Chairman of the District Vaccination Coordination Committee, Panchthar, said that a total of 7,012 children in all these age groups have completed all the doses of vaccines required for their age groups, ensuring complete vaccination and sustainability.

Angdembe, who is also the head of the District Coordination Committee, Panchthar, thanked the public representatives and health workers who played a role in declaring the district the first fully vaccinated district in the country by fulfilling all the conditions set by the World Health Organization and the Government of Nepal.

Earlier, a vaccination campaign was conducted in all municipalities and wards of the district. In which, it is said that campaigns such as searching and vaccinating children who are far from the reach of vaccination were conducted. Among the seven rural municipalities and one municipality of Panchthar, Hilihang Rural Municipality has become the first local level to ensure vaccination in the district.

Phidim Municipality came second and Tumwewa Rural Municipality came third. All three local levels were awarded certificates by Koshi Province Health Minister Man Bahadur Limbu.
