Despite efforts to remove the mud and rocks piled up on the road, the problem has arisen since Saturday morning. Police have stated that traffic has been blocked after the road has piled up on a 300-meter stretch of the road.
The Indian company Apco Infra Tech, which is responsible for the construction of the Bhedetar-Rabi-Rank road, has tried to remove the landslide with excavators and JCVs, but has not been successful. Ramesh Pradhan, Deputy Inspector of Police at the Area Police Office, who is there, informed that there has been further trouble after the landslide occurred again on Saturday morning.
He said that traffic has been completely blocked after stones, mud and trees started falling from the upper part of the road.
After the road was blocked, work is underway to send vehicles that have been stopped since yesterday to their destinations through an alternative route. Work is underway to further widen the road. Regular transport is operated on the road from Dharan and Dhankuta to Chaubise area and Panchthar. Due to the landslide, all means of transport have been stopped for two days.
