The only basketball court in Dhankuta Multipurpose Campus, considered one of the most prestigious educational institutions in the east, has been unused for four years. After the court was completely damaged, basketball practice and competitive sports activities on the campus have been affected. The court, spread over an area of about one ropani, located just below the administrative building of the campus, is now in a dilapidated state. The structure has collapsed, the ground has cracked and sunk. The campus has stated that the game cannot be held due to the dilapidated ring and other structures. After the damage to the court, students studying health and physical education at the undergraduate level have been deprived of practice and experimental classes. They have complained that they have not been able to participate in regular practice, training and internal competitions for four years. According to Hom Bahadur Basnet, the damage to the court has affected both competitive games and practice. 'The current court has deteriorated to the point of being unusable. We have put forward a plan to build a new court at another location, but the work has not been able to move forward due to the lack of suitable land,' he said.

Due to the non-operation of the court, activities such as students' physical fitness development, sports skill enhancement, participation in inter-campus competitions and talent recognition have been affected.

Due to the lack of sports practice, the practical aspects of health and physical education have also become weak, said Yuva Timsina, president of the Independent Students' Union of Dhankuta Multiple Campus. He said that the campus administration should immediately start work on alternative management of the court for basketball practice and competition.
