The CPN (UML) has emerged as the first party in the proportional representation category under the Dhankuta House of Representatives election. The UML, which won the direct election in the district, has also maintained its lead in the proportional representation category.
According to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, UML has secured the first place with 16,567 votes. In the direct election, UML's Rajendra Kumar Rai won with 18,132 votes.
In the proportional election, the National Swatantra Party is in second place with 14,679 votes, the Labor Culture Party is in third place with 13,960 votes, and the Nepali Congress is in fourth place with 8,651 votes. Similarly, the Nepali Communist Party is in fifth place with 1,634 votes, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party is in sixth place with 1,205 votes, and the Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal is in seventh place with 1,036 votes, informed Chief Electoral Officer Harishchandra Ibnam.
