Targeting the upcoming House of Representatives elections, the District Administration Office, Dhankuta, has urged consumers not to stock petroleum products unnecessarily.

Chief District Officer Binod Kumar Khadka has informed that all petrol pumps have been instructed not to stock petrol and diesel unnecessarily and not to sell them in bottles or gallons.

According to him, some consumers had started stockpiling petroleum products in fear of a fuel shortage due to the recent developments in the Gulf. After that, the administration has increased its activity to prevent an artificial shortage in the market.

‘Fuel supply in the district is regular. There is no need to stock up in panic,’ said Chief District Officer Khadka, ‘Unnecessary storage can create problems in the market, so everyone should exercise restraint.’

The District Administration Office has stated that it has discussed with petrol pump operators and directed them to ensure regular supply and transparent distribution. It has also been warned that legal action will be taken if any pump is found selling or storing fuel against the prescribed standards.

The administration has stated that fuel supply management has been prioritized to ensure that there is no disruption to essential services during the election period. The administration has urged consumers to consume fuel only as needed without being swayed by unnecessary rumors and speculation.
