A Nepal Army team disposed of a suspicious object that was placed on the Madan Bhandari Highway near the Lati Khola bridge in Chaudandigadhi Municipality-2 on Tuesday evening, causing the highway to be closed.

A Nepali Army team has disposed of a suspicious object placed on the Madan Bhandari Highway near the Latikhola bridge in Chaudandigadhi Municipality-2, Udayapur, causing the highway to be closed this evening.
A joint team of the Nepali Army deployed from Pashupati Prasad Battalion Pipaltar Barracks, Udayapur, deactivated the suspicious object. Nepal Police Armed Police Force was deployed at the scene immediately after the news of the suspicious object being found. Immediately, a joint team including the Nepali Army deployed for election security was deployed for security.
During the initial investigation, a security source said that the object was not an explosive. The suspicious object was disposed of 50 meters away from the place where it was placed.
It is not yet clear who placed the suspicious object and for what purpose, causing the highway to be closed. A security source said that an investigation is underway.
Locals were panicking, suspecting that explosives may have been placed. Suspicious objects were found on a busy road where vehicles are operating.
