The polling officers and other staff deployed in the high mountainous areas of the district have left for their polling stations. Election officer Dhanraj Shrestha informed that the staff with election materials left from the district headquarters, Phungling, on Friday.
The staff deployed at the high-mountainous settlement of Yangma at an altitude of 4,200 meters, Olangchungola and Ghunsa at an altitude of 3,100 meters, and Gyabla at an altitude of 2,700 meters have been mobilized. It takes three days to reach the farthest Yangma. In view of the security situation, the election office has mobilized staff and security personnel from all four polling stations simultaneously. The team with election materials includes a polling officer, assistant polling officer, assistant staff, office assistant and security personnel.
The polling officer in Yangma is Madhav Khadka, in Olangchungola is Dambar Bahadur Angdembe, in Ghunsa is Devendra Menyangwo, and in Gyabla is Bimal Gautam. They left for the respective polling stations after receiving the election materials including ballot papers, said District Election Coordination Committee Chairman and Chief District Officer Shivraj Sedhai.
Yangma has to go through Olangchungola, while Ghunsa has to go through Gyabla. All four settlements are located in the same place. In Ghunsa, voters from Pele can reach by walking for an hour, and in Gabla, voters from Amjiles can reach by walking for three hours.
Chief District Officer Sedhai informed that employees have been mobilized from Falgun 15 in view of the risk of snow due to the changing weather. According to him, all employees, including polling officers, should reach the respective polling stations by Falgun 17. On the 18th, a meeting will be held in the presence of locals, work will be done to set up polling stations, etc.
