Former Nepali Army employee and Everest climber Kishore Javegu, guides Mohan Limbu and Gopal Tamang successfully conducted the trial at the 52-meter-long waterfall.
Ward Chairman Amarbir Rai said that the Muwa Falls, which has natural beauty, will now move towards building infrastructure to operate canyoning professionally.
According to him, the trial of canyoning here is to promote tourism along with the commercial development of adventure sports. It takes only about one and a half hours to reach here from tourist areas such as Sandakpur and Charrate on the border of Nepal and India.
Similarly, locals say that it has ample potential for adventure sports as it can be reached from the Panchthar district headquarters Phidim via Nagin Sidin in one hour. The rural municipality, ward office and local Deep Jyoti Youth Club have been working on making the Muwa Falls area a tourist destination by prioritizing it.
