Balsamsar English Boarding School and Dhankuta English Boarding School have won the U-12 and U-14 categories respectively in a school-level football tournament organized by New Nawa Prabhat Club, Dhankuta 5 with the aim of spreading awareness against child labor.

The tournament, which was held in Lower Tundikhel, Dhankuta from Magh 29, has 8 schools participating in the U-12 category and 7 in the U-14 category, according to the organizers. The tournament was held in two age groups, U-12 and U-14.

In the final match of the U-12 category, Balsamsar English Boarding School defeated Tamor Valley English Boarding School by a 7-6 goal margin in a trybreaker to lift the title. The winning team received a cash prize of Rs 10,000, while the runner-up Tamor Valley settled for Rs 7,500 in cash.

Similarly, in the U-14 category, Dhankuta English Boarding School won the title by defeating Balsamsar English Boarding School by a 4-2 goal margin in a trybreaker.

The winner Dhankuta English Boarding School received a cash prize of Rs 20,000, while the runner-up Balsamsar received a cash prize of Rs 10,000.

The competition also included awards for the best coach, best goalkeeper, best defense, best forward, best midfielder, highest scorer, and emerging player in both categories. According to

Club President Govinda Rai, the competition is believed to increase interest in sports among students and help develop discipline, team spirit, and leadership skills. He said that the competition was organized with the aim of spreading the message of freeing children from labor and inspiring them towards sports and education.
