The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Dhankuta, has demanded a written explanation from an independent candidate following a complaint regarding violation of the election code of conduct.

The office has directed independent candidate Lakpa Tamang to respond to the activities carried out on social media.

UML Dhankuta has filed a complaint alleging that personal abuse, defamation and malicious comments were made on social media through video and audio, targeting its candidate for the House of Representatives, mentioning the wrong phone number and the wrong person, according to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer. 

The letter written by Assistant Electoral Officer of the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Dhankuta, Indra Kumar Yonghang, has asked the office to submit a written response.
