The District Administration Office, Jhapa, has urged voters not to violate their privacy by asking questions on social media platforms such as Facebook and YouTube, asking them "which party and election symbol will they vote for?"

The Assistant Chief District Officer and Election Code of Conduct Monitoring Officer Tej Prasad Prasai and Anjan Neupane issued a press release on Sunday and made the request. The Election Code of Conduct Monitoring Officer Prasai said that a public notice has been issued to stop the act of violating the privacy of voters by asking the general public and voters which party, candidate and election symbol they will vote for.

The administration has also clarified that violating the privacy of voters and causing it to be violated is a violation of the code of conduct as per Section 4 (d) of the Election Code of Conduct 2082. If anyone is found to have violated the code of conduct, action will be taken as per the prevailing law, the press release issued by the district administration also states.
