One person died on Saturday in a minor dispute in Ikhambu, Chainpur Municipality-10, Sankhuwasabha.

At around 4 pm, a minor dispute arose between 59-year-old Shiva Kumar Rai and 47-year-old Leela Prasad Rai of the same place over the issue of an object eating grass. As the dispute escalated, Shiva took out the khukuri he was carrying and attacked Leela.

Police have stated that Leela, who was seriously injured in the khukuri attack, died on the spot. As soon as information about the incident was received, a team led by a police inspector from the Area Police Office, Chainpur and Police Post, Kharang, took the accused Shiva under control along with the khukuri from the spot.

The District Police Office has informed that further investigation is currently underway regarding the incident.
