The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer has sought clarification from government employees here who campaigned for political party candidates in violation of the election code of conduct.
Assistant Election Officer Ujjwal Neupane informed that he has asked three employees for clarification. It is said that the clarification was asked based on a complaint that the party's candidates were campaigning on social media to seek votes.
The names of the employees have not been disclosed. He said that a written explanation has been taken from those employees. Assistant Election Officer Neupane said that strict action will be taken if they repeat activities against the code of conduct. He also said that it has been decided not to field such employees in the election.
