The district's Pakhribas Municipality has spent 26 percent in the first quarter of the current fiscal year. The municipality, which has a budget of 590 million for the current fiscal year, has achieved 5 percent progress in capital expenditure and 21 percent in current expenditure, according to a public hearing held in Phalatte.
The municipality has spent Rs 77.8 million on current and Rs 10.5 million on capital expenditure, said Pakhribas Municipality Mayor Gyan Bahadur Gurung. In the first quarter of the current fiscal year, 35 consumer committees have been formed in 10 wards of Pakhribas. Mayor Gurung said that a plan agreement has been signed with 12 consumer committees and eight plans have been completed. According to the Local Government Operation Act 2074 and the Good Governance (Management and Operation) Act 2064, there is a legal provision that every local level must regularly conduct public hearings and social testing programs every quarter. Mayor Gurung said that public hearings will create a channel for direct dialogue between the local government and citizens, increase transparency, improve services, and play an important role in strengthening public trust.
