Preparations for the House of Representatives elections to be held in Sunsari Constituency No. 1 are progressing rapidly. The Office of the Returning Officer, Sunsari-1, held a press conference on Tuesday to provide information about the overall preparations related to the election.
According to Divyaraj Adhikari, an officer at the Office of the Election Officer, there are 161 polling stations in 41 polling stations under Sunsari-1. There are a total of 150,393 voters in this area. According to the returning officer, interaction with the candidates and their representatives regarding the code of conduct, monitoring and inspection of polling stations, identification of potential problems and adoption of solutions will be taken forward. He said, ‘Daily election-related work, including management of necessary materials, is being carried out continuously.’
The Office of the Election Officer has said that political parties will be allowed to campaign and conduct door-to-door canvassing for the election only from Falgun 4. Currently, political parties or candidates will only be allowed to meet their voters in person and will only be allowed to campaign from Falgun 4 to 12 noon on Falgun 18, said Election Officer Ghimire.
