Similarly, Roshni Meche of the alliance was elected with 7,173 votes under the women's group. Her nearest competitor Namita Neupane received 2,268 votes.
In the election, 258 votes were cast for the local level and 87 for the provincial assembly. 258 out of a total of 267 voted at the local level. 87 out of 92 votes were cast for the provincial assembly. According to the vote weighting system, the local level vote weighting was fixed at 19 and the provincial assembly vote weighting at 53.
64 votes of the alliance and 22 votes of the NCP were cast for the provincial assembly. The election office has stated that one vote was invalid in the election.
Congress leader Sunil Bahadur Thapa was elected unopposed from Koshi Province in the 'Other Group'. He was previously a political advisor to President Ram Chandra Poudel.
Thapa's sole candidacy was filed during the nomination registration for the National Assembly elections held in Biratnagar on Poush 23. Although he was elected on the same day, the commission made the formal announcement only on Sunday.
