A complaint has been filed with the Election Commission against Kumar Bahadur Thapa, a proportional closed list candidate from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, for the 2082 House of Representatives election.
RPP Dhankuta chairperson and central committee member Pavitra Shrestha of Pakhribas-5 has filed a complaint against Thapa. According to a statement issued by the Election Commission, a complaint has been filed with the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority regarding the unauthorized sale of land in a tea garden in Uttarpani, Dhankuta. Shrestha, a central member, told Kantipur that she had to file the complaint after the party, which gives the slogan of controlling corruption, promoted people associated with corruption to the proportional closed list. She said that she was ready to face action for filing the complaint against Thapa. “The party may talk about taking action for filing the complaint, but I have raised the issue of procedure and procedure,” she said. Shrestha said that she was returning to Dhankuta after filing the complaint with the commission. Thapa, on the other hand, responded that she had learned about the complaint filed against her with the Election Commission through the news. Thapa said, 'I also came to know about this from the media, I have no reaction to it, no comment.' Thapa's name is at number 37 on the proportional closed list.
The Election Commission has asked Thapa and two other candidates to be present with evidence between 10 am and 4 pm on Magh 13. It is stated that if they do not appear at the time called by the commission, the law will be followed. Earlier, Rastriya Prajatantra Party Dhankuta President Kumar Bahadur Thapa and central member Pavitra Shrestha had sent separate lists of candidates for the House of Representatives election to the center. Thapa and Shrestha had sent the names of direct and proportional candidates to the central committee in their own way using separate letter pads.
