After the Election Police received fewer applications than required, requests will be brought in from outside the district.
Out of the 1,282 election police officers required in the district, only 1,194 have applied. According to Police Inspector Raju Bista of the District Police Office, Khotang, 88 fewer people have applied for the upcoming House of Representatives elections scheduled for Falgun 21. He said that even if the number of applications is not as per the demand, the remaining number will be recruited from other districts. Although the application period was called from Poush 25 to Magh 1, the application period was extended to Magh 3 due to the low number of applications.
The applicants took the written and oral exam at the Matikore Sports Ground on Magh 8. Bista said that the exam results will be made public by the 11th. 195 polling stations have been determined in 136 polling stations in Khotang. There are 147,120 voters in the district.
