The identities of those who died in the bus accident at Zero Point in Dharan-13 have been revealed.

At around 4 pm on Sunday, a Times International Academy Janakpur bus (No. Ko.1 Kha.7119) coming from Bhedetar towards Dharan on the Koshi Highway lost control and crashed. The bus hit New Saba Medical.

Five people, including a child, died and 12 were injured in the accident.

According to the District Police Office, Sunsari, 5 people, including 2 passengers on the bus and 3 people in the medical, died on the spot. The deceased have been identified as Subeksha Subba, 24, a resident of Dharan-13, the operator of Saba Medical, Omesh Rai of Barahakshetra-3, Sunsari, who has been undergoing training for Lahore recruitment at the Gorkha Field Camp at Zero Point for the past two years, and Nayan Thapa Magar, 19, of Mechinagar, Jhapa.

Similarly, the bus passengers are Rishabh Kumar, the 18-month-old son of Rohit Kumar Mandal of Gaindadevpur-8, Mahottari, and Dhairiya Kumar Yadav, 31, of the same place.

The injured are Rina Mandal, 25, of Dhanush Janakpur-12, Laxmi Mandal, 23, of Janakpur-5, Raja Babu, 18, of the same place, Manita Devi Mandal, 40, of Janakpur-4, Punita Mandal, 30, of the same place, and Yashoda Shrestha, 43, of Dharan-13, who works in medicine, Rohit Mandal, 24, of Janakpur, and Rohan Mandal, 24, of Janakpur, are in moderate condition, according to the District Police Office, Sunsari.

The condition of Jitendra Mandal, 38, of Dhanaudi-2, Mahamat Mulal, 25, of Mahottari Matthipani-4, Sunena Devi Mandal, 40, of Janakpur, and Krishna Mandal, 20, of Janakpur-5, is critical, said DSP Grihan Babu Rai of the Area Police Office, Dharan. They are undergoing treatment at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.
