Bishwakarma has participated in the bullfighting competition organized on Thursday, purchasing a bull from Nuwakot for Rs. 150,000.
The bull purchased from Nuwakot for the Maghe Sakranti festival has been transported to Dhankuta. Dilkumar Bishwakarma of Khatri village, Pakhribas-10, transported the bull from Nuwakot to Dhankuta.
Bishwakarma has participated in the bullfighting competition organized on Thursday, purchasing a bull from Nuwakot for Rs 150,000. Bishwakarma said that he had brought the bull from Chungmang to Muga two days ago for the fight.
He said that he had purchased a bull that had performed well in the bullfighting competition held in Nuwakot in the past and brought it.
A bullfighting competition is organized every year on Maghe Sankranti in Muga, Pakhribas Municipality-7, Dhankuta. Like last year, a bullfighting competition is organized on Magh 1 at Gaje Gauri in Muga. 9 bulls have been brought to participate in the competition.
The first prize of the bullfighting competition is Rs 30,000. According to the organizer, a strong breed of bull was selected and brought to Dhankuta from Nuwakot.
Organizer Gopal Baraili said that bullfighting is viewed in connection with local culture, identity and tourism promotion. This event is expected to increase activity in rural areas and also have a positive impact on the local economy. Spectators have also come from neighboring districts to watch the bullfights in Dhankuta.
