Nine people have been injured in a Bolero jeep accident on the inner road at Ghurundu Nayapani in Mapya Dudhkoshi Rural Municipality-6 of Solukhumbu.

At around 12 noon on Monday, a double-cap Bolero jeep with BAD 7742 number, which was heading from Wakuchowk of Mapya Dudhkoshi Rural Municipality-6 to Ward 7, fell about 100 meters off the road.

The injured have been taken to the health post Waku and are being treated. Police have said that preparations are being made to refer the seriously injured.

Among the injured, the driver, 28-year-old Pradeep Rai, a resident of Kaku of Mapya Dudhkoshi Rural Municipality-5, and 28-year-old Kushum Rai, have blood flowing from their left ears and are in serious condition. 27-year-old Balram Rai and 30-year-old Devendra Rai have suffered head injuries and are unable to move their bodies and both are in serious condition.

Similarly, Suresh Rai, 31, suffered injuries to his left knee, Manoj Rai, 19, suffered injuries to his left knee and head, and 17-year-old Sandeep Rai suffered injuries to his lower back and head and are in moderate condition. Police have said that the condition of 27-year-old Devika Rai and 27-year-old Sabina Rai has improved and they have been discharged after treatment.

The jeep involved in the accident is at the scene and further investigation is underway, said Police Inspector Bikash Rai of the District Police Office, Solukhumbu.
