Koshi Province's Minister of Internal Affairs and Law, Indramani Parajuli, said that the provincial government has not been able to work in accordance with the spirit of federalism because of the federal government.
He complained that the provincial police and civil service laws could not be implemented due to the federal government. He said that the lack of a provincial police act has left the areas of peace and security, disaster management and good governance in the background.
At a press conference organized in Dhankuta, Minister Parajuli said that many laws in the province's exclusive jurisdiction have been left behind due to the federal government. Most of the laws should have been made by the federal government, and after the federal government, provincial and local laws, but that has not happened, Minister Parajuli said.
