Rs. 821,000 has been collected for the blood transfusion center to be established at the District Hospital, Dhankuta.

To establish a blood transfusion center in the 112-year-old district hospital, the District Hospital, Non-Resident Nepali Association, local levels, and the Federation of Journalists, among other social organizations, are seeking donors through a public appeal under the leadership of the Nepal Red Cross Society Dhankuta branch.

For the establishment of the blood transfusion center, donors from abroad and at home have collected and sent funds under the coordination of Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Chief Executive Officer Rajendra Kumar Raut. The NRNA National Coordination Council Japan has provided institutional support of Rs. 200,000 for the establishment of the blood transfusion center.

Similarly, former NCC President Dr. Bidur Khabas, President of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists, Dhankuta, informed that 821,000 rupees were collected by Kisan Bhandari, 200,000 rupees by NRNA National Coordination Council Canada, 100,000 rupees by NRNA International Coordination Council ICC Japan, 100,000 rupees by Robin Prasad Sherchan, Vice President of NRNA NCC China, 71,000 rupees by Rajendra Kumar Raut, Chief Executive Officer of Non-Resident Nepali Association, 55,000 rupees by Rajendra Kumar Raut, NRNA Sub-Regional Coordinator (Asia Pacific Region) Deepak Kandel, 50,000 rupees by NRNA National Coordination Council Congo, 25, and 10,000 rupees by Ashok Raj Pandey, a businessman from Nuwakot.

The collected amount has been deposited in the account of the Nepal Red Cross Society Dhankuta branch at Machhapuchhre Bank, informed Rajendra Kumar Raut, Chief Executive Officer of Non-Resident Nepali Association.

There is still no blood transfusion center in Dhankuta District Hospital, which was established in the name of the then Trichandra Hospital in 1970 BS. When blood is needed at Dhankuta Hospital, the relatives of the patients are forced to personally find donors.
