CPN-UML Taplejung has recommended the names of five people, including Deputy General Secretary Yogesh Bhattarai, for the upcoming House of Representatives elections to be held on 21 Falgun.
The party's district committee meeting held on Saturday recommended the names of Bhattarai, Koshi Province MP and central member Til Kumar Menyangbo, Youth Association central chairman and party central member Kshitij Thebe, and former Koshi Province minister and former central member Tanka Angbohang as direct candidates, said Santosh Chamling, head of the publicity department and district committee secretary. According to him, the name of Phungling Municipality Deputy Chief and District Committee Deputy Secretary Bhima Devi Ojha has also been recommended.
Deputy Secretary Bhattarai was elected from Taplejung in the 2079 and 2074 elections. Pasang Sherpa, Shiva Kumar Gurung, Mahesh Gurgain and Chitragupta Sanwa had also proposed candidates to the party.
