A building constructed by the people has been handed over to the Nepal Police Highway Safety and Traffic Management Office, which was destroyed during the Genji Movement.
The four-room building, which was completed by the public at the office premises, which oversees highway safety and traffic management in Koshi Province, was formally handed over to the traffic police on Saturday.
The building was completed and handed over to the traffic police by a team including the chairman of the Building Reconstruction Consumers Committee, Jeevan Parajuli, under the chief guestship of Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City Mayor Hemkarna Poudel, at a program organized on the premises of the office.
The building, which was constructed with the technical and financial support of Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City, was completed at the initiative of various organizations and individuals, including civil society, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The Consumers Committee has stated that the building, which was built at a cost of 2.8 million rupees, was supported by various organizations and individuals of Itahari, including the sub-metropolitan city, 2 million rupees, and 5 million rupees from the Itahari Drinking Water Consumers Association. The single-story building has a barracks hall and three office rooms.
Donors who supported the construction of the building were also honored at the program. Addressing the building handover program, Mayor Poudel said that the building was constructed and handed over to the traffic police with the aim of making traffic management more effective. He also mentioned that Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City is committed to continuous support in the field of infrastructure development.
