Nepali Congress leader Dr. Sunil Sharma has provided financial assistance of Rs 20 million to Janata Secondary School located in Ratuwamai Municipality-9, Morang. He has provided the assistance in the name of his parents for the educational development of the school.

Along with the financial assistance, the school will now be renamed as Shree Janata Loknath-Homa Devi Secondary School. At the assistance handover program organized on Friday, Dr. Sharma informed that the amount will be used for strengthening the school's physical infrastructure, enhancing educational quality and long-term development.

As per the provisions of the Education Act, there is a provision for donors who provide more than Rs 20 million in cash or immovable property to secondary schools to amend the name of the school as they wish. The management committee has stated that the name of the school has been amended in accordance with the same provision.

During the program, Dr. Sharma also laid the foundation stone of a new building to be constructed on the school premises. It is said that the building, which will be constructed at a cost of about Rs 30 million, will be two-storeyed and will have 10 classrooms. After the construction of the new building, the teaching and learning environment is expected to be more comfortable and organized.

Similarly, Dr. Sharma has announced an educational scholarship program worth about Rs 10 million for poor and meritorious students studying in the school. He said that the program was brought with the aim of ensuring that poor and needy students should not be deprived of education due to financial constraints.

The school administration has stated that this support, which makes a significant contribution to the promotion of education at the local level, has improved the educational environment of the school and has sent a positive message to students, parents, and the local community.
