A child has died after drowning in a frozen puddle while playing in Jhapa.
At around 2:30 pm on Sunday, Dinesh Kandel's three-year-old son Divansh Kadel, a resident of Sadakbari, Jhapa Rural Municipality-2, Jhapa, drowned in a water-filled ditch while playing in front of his house.
After the incident, the seriously injured boy was immediately rescued and taken to Birta City Hospital, Birtamod for treatment. However, he died on Sunday afternoon during treatment, according to the District Police Office, Jhapa. The body of the deceased boy has been kept at the same hospital. Police said that further investigation into the incident is underway.
