Pavimaya Bayalkoti, 56, was murdered by her own son-in-law Ganesh Shah Gupta last night at BP Chowk in Itahari Sub-metropolitan City-9, while she was visiting her daughter.

The Bayalkoti couple, who had come from Dingla-1, Bhojpur for treatment, had reached their son-in-law's house in Itahari on Sunday evening to meet their daughter. The Bayalkoti couple were preparing to return to their home in Bhojpur this morning.
The Bayalkoti couple, who had gone to meet their daughter a day before returning home, had urged Ganesh, who was consuming alcohol daily, to change his behavior. Mother-in-law Pavimaya had said that if he repeated such behavior in the future, she would take her daughter away. Police have stated that Ganesh, who became enraged, killed him by hitting him with a water pipe.
Pavimaya, who was seriously injured, died on the way while being taken to Birat Hospital in Biratnagar for treatment, Subash Hamal, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Area Police Office, Itahari, informed.
Ganesh, who was absconding after the incident, was arrested this morning and further investigation into the incident is underway, Deputy Superintendent of Police Hamal informed.
