Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Dhankuta President Kumar Bahadur Thapa and central member Pavitra Shrestha have sent separate lists of candidates for the House of Representatives elections to the center.
RPP District President Kumar Bahadur Thapa and Central Member Pabitra Shrestha have recommended candidates for the direct and proportional categories using separate letter pads.
Central Member Shrestha has written a letter on Poush 20 and sent the names of 6 people for the direct and proportional categories to the Central Committee. He has put his own name first in the direct category. In the direct category, Pabitra Shrestha is in the women and tribal quota, Kumar Bahadur Thapa and Dhruv Kumar Chhara are in the Khas Arya category. Similarly, in the proportional category, Ghamlal Rai is in the tribal category, Hari Prasad Ghimire and Suryama Thapa are in the Khas Arya category.
In the list sent by District President Thapa to the Central Committee on Poush 21, the single name of his grandson Bibhatsu Thapa has been recommended for the direct category. Thapa has put his own name first in the proportional category.
The Khas Arya side of the proportional list is Kumar Bahadur Thapa, the open women's side is Indira Bhandari, the tribal men's side is Dharmadhwaj Rai, Man Bahadur Bishwakarma and Narendra Rai. Similarly, the proportional women's side is Sanumaya Tamang, Pavitra Shrestha, Dhanmaya Gurung, Rubina Sunar and Namuna Rai.
The two different lists of the district chairman and the central member have created confusion among the RPP cadres. District chairman Thapa claims that the list of candidates sent by central member Shrestha is invalid. He claimed that the list recommended by the party in the district will be official. He said, 'Whatever the district party decides is official.' It doesn't matter who personally wished what.'
Regarding the recommendation of Bibhatsu Thapa, a grandson of the party, and his own name as the first candidate in the proportional representation, Chairman Thapa claimed that this recommendation was natural based on the demands of the current situation of the country and his past contributions.
Bibhatsu, a 30-year-old cricketer and social science student who was recommended as a candidate in the House of Representatives, is a cricketer and a social science student. Chairman Thapa claimed that Bibhatsu's recommendation was in line with the essence of Gen-G rather than inheritance and relationship.
Meanwhile, central member Shrestha claimed that she had to send a separate recommendation list to end the Thapas' monopoly in the RPP. She said that she had to rebel after the Chairman's arrogance put forward a person whose name was not even heard by party workers in the name of relatives and relatives. She said, "I have no comment on the recommendations of the children, my dissatisfaction and rebellion is against Kumar Bahadur Thapa's attitude." She claimed that the recommendation she made was official.
While both Thapa and Shrestha continue to claim that the list they sent is official, the leaders and activists of the RPP are confused. Former RPP leader and former Pradhan Panch Tika Prasad Ghimire argued that the letter sent by the chairman should be recognized. He defended Thapa, saying that only Thapa can lead the party ideologically and organizationally. He said, "It is difficult to run the party by keeping Thapa apart in Dhankuta."
