Seven police posts in Panchthar, which were displaced during the Gen-G movement held on Bhadra 23 and 24, have been re-established.
Police posts have been re-established at Sinhapur, temporary police posts Bhulke, Oyam, Thoklimba, Angsarang, Gopetar and Falaincha.
Considering the security threat due to the Gen-G movement and the situation that arose thereafter, these posts were concentrated at the district headquarters. After the police posts were merged with various police posts including the district headquarters, the locals had been demanding their re-establishment. They said that the absence of police would increase criminal incidents and also affect election security.
Police personnel were sent to the temporary police post Oyam among the displaced on Friday. Police had already reached Sinhapur and Bhulke on Thursday and other police posts a few days ago, informed DSP Anish Kumar Karna, Chief of the District Police Office, Panchthar.
