Bhuwan Chaudhary, 60, of Ramdhuni-5, Sunsari, a bus driver who was seriously injured in a school bus accident that occurred in Dhankuta on Sunday, has died during treatment.
The school bus numbered Ko 1 Kha 53, which had gone to Tinjure for an educational trip, was returning to Sunsari when it met with an accident on Sunday in the Dhankuta Bazaar. 36 passengers, including students, were injured in the accident. Among the injured, the driver Chaudhary, who was in a critical condition, died at Birat Teaching Hospital in Biratnagar on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Two of the injured students are undergoing treatment at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan. Dhankuta Superintendent of Police Sharat Kumar Thapa Chhetri informed that 25 people on board the bus have returned home after treatment.
