One person has died in a road accident in Jhapa. 37-year-old Khushbu Khatun died in an auto accident near Gariya Chowk, Gauradaha Municipality-1.

On the evening of November 21, an auto (Me 1-Ha 5754) heading from Gairiya Chowk to Gauradaha collided with a mini truck (Province 1-02-001 Kha 9093) loading paddy.

The auto driver, 48-year-old Mohammad Doma of Gauradaha-1, was injured in the accident. Police said he suffered an injury to his left hand. His 37-year-old wife Khatun, who was in the same auto, was seriously injured and was undergoing treatment, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police of the District Police Office, Khagendra Bahadur Khadka, last night.

She died during treatment at Nobel Hospital, Biratnagar, according to police.
