The Armed Police Force's Basantapur BOP, which has been operating in the border area of ​​Sunsari from a temporary structure built for the police, has started working from its own building. The unit of the Armed Police Force, established as a security base camp in 2065 BS, was converted into a BOP in 2075 BS.

The new building of the Armed Police Force's Basantapur BOP, which has been providing services from a dilapidated building, has been inaugurated by Armed Police Force Nepal No. 1 Barah Bahini Battalion Commander Kumar Neupane.

The new building of the BOP, located within 500 meters of the Nepal-India border, was constructed by the Armed Police Force after purchasing 5 katta land, said Nirmal Thapa, Chief Superintendent of Police of the Armed Police Force No. 4 Battalion.

Along with the inauguration of the new building, which was constructed at a cost of Rs 17.52 million, Neupane also inspected it. While addressing after the inauguration of the building, Neupane, Battalion Commander of the No. 1 Battalion, said that the Armed Police Force has been prioritizing tasks such as monitoring the border posts, revenue collection and controlling theft and smuggling.

Expressing confidence that the unit, which is facing a shortage of buildings, will work with high morale from the new office, Neupane said that action will be taken if any of its subordinates are found involved in wrongdoing.

At the program, Chief of No. 4 Battalion Headquarters, Sunsari, Superintendent of Armed Police Nirmal Thapa informed about the situation in the border area of ​​the district and the role being played by the Armed Police Force. According to Thapa, there are 11 units under No. 4 Battalion, Sunsari, including 2 proposed Border Security Units and 9 Border Out Posts (BOPs).
