Two people have died in a road accident near Khunia Bridge in Kosi Rural Municipality-1 of Sunsari on the East-West Highway.

DSP Yograj Khatiwada, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Sunsari, informed that two people died and 10 others were injured in the morning accident.

Among the dead are one woman and another man. Khatiwada informed that their identity could not be revealed. The deceased man died in District Hospital Inaruwa Sunsari and the woman died during treatment at Neuro Cardio Hospital Bhokraha.

According to Khatiwada, coming from the west to the east. The passenger bus number 1-02-002 kha 0949 broke down and hit the truck number 6 kha 3733 which was stopped on the side of the road.

Among those injured in the accident are 25-year-old Prakash Sardar of Saptari Rupni-9, his wife 30-year-old Poonam Sardar, 50-year-old Gnanadevi Chaudhary of Khadak Municipality-5 of Saptari, 52-year-old Baneshwari Devi Chaudhary of Siraha, 35-year-old KC Devi Chaudhary of the same place.

Similarly, Siraha Dhangadhi Mai Municipality 1  Shantidevi Chaudhary aged 55, Dinesh Kumar Chaudhary aged 40 and his wife Chandrika Chaudhary aged 36, Prabhananda Chaudhary aged 50 residing in Lahan Municipality 1 and Purushottam Chaudhary aged 36 residing in Saptari Surunga Municipality 9 were also injured. Some of the injured are in serious condition. DSP Khatiwada informed that all of them are being treated at District Hospital Inaruwa.
