Last March, the state's physical infrastructure minister Bhupendra Rai monitored the construction of the bridge after local residents protested. He instructed to complete the work immediately. Because of this, Pashupati Baral, the owner of the contractor World Trade Construction Company, also showed up to work for a few days. But since then the work has stopped again.

'A few days after the minister's monitoring, the contractor showed work. A little bit of gravel and sand was also swept away,' said Nar Bahadur Magar, a local, 'Now that too has been washed away by the rain. We have been suffering for a long time without a bridge.'
