The flood in the Mechi River has destroyed the Nepal-India border pillar. Sources of the armed police said that the floods that occurred on Tuesday night broke the auxiliary border post No. 92/11 on the Mechi river in Mechinagar-15 Limbudanda.

According to the police, the armed police team reached the river on Tuesday afternoon and found the border pillar collapsed in the river.

Chief District Officer of Jhapa, Gopal Kumar Adhikari, said that he had come to know that the border pillar had been brought down by flood. According to him, the boundary pillar collapsed while the Mechi river was being cut. He said that the restoration of the collapsed border pillar will now be carried out. It is known where the boundary pillar was. There is a two-way mechanism for this. The meeting of the said mechanism will be held and the work will be done to restore the fallen border pillar, he said.
