One person died while fishing in the Khare river and another person died in a motorcycle collision.
Two people died in two separate incidents in Jhapa. Deputy Superintendent of Police Khagendra Bahadur Khadka, spokesperson of District Police Office Jhapa, informed that one person was killed while fishing in Khare river in Kankai Municipality-1 and one person died in a collision with a motorcycle on the inner road section of Keradhap in Kamal Rural Municipality-3.
According to him, this morning 37-year-old Pankaj Majhi of Kankai-1 died on the spot due to electrocution while fishing from an electric pole in Khare River.
As soon as the information about the incident is received, a police team has been deployed from the area police office Anarmani and it is said that further investigation is underway.
Similarly, on Friday, 88-year-old Tikaram Shrestha, a pedestrian, was killed when he was hit by a motorcycle numbered 1-01-016 P 5105 going from Kempa to Kerkha on the inner road section of Kamal-3 Keradhap.
Shrestha was sent to B&C Hospital in Birtamod for further treatment after receiving initial treatment at the local medical center after being injured in the head and right leg due to a motorcycle collision, District Police Office Jhapa said.
While the body is now kept in the hospital, the motorcycle driver Manakumar Subedi, 51 years old, has been taken into custody and necessary investigation is being conducted by the local police office.
