Mechi Customs Office has collected one billion 265 million 79 thousand revenue in the first month of the current financial year. This is 7.74 percent more than the same period of the previous financial year.

According to Information Officer of Mechi Customs Office, Ishwar Kumar Humagai, in July last year, one billion 174 million 91 thousand revenue was collected.

"Compared to July of last year, imports from Mechi customs have decreased by 4.90 percent and exports by 14.68 percent in the same month of the current year. Despite the decrease in import and export, the revenue amount from imports has increased by 6.87 percent and exports by 80.14 percent", he said. 

Petroleum products, transport vehicles and their spare parts, mineral products, footwear, cosmetics etc. are imported through Kankarvitta crossing. Products such as tea, cardamom, amriso, ginger etc. are exported from here.
