A youth has died due to electric shock in Haldibari Rural Municipality of Jhapa.
Police said that 31-year-old Ram Kumar Adhikari, who was a resident of Sankhuwasabha Chainpur Municipality-2 and currently living in Haldibari-4, Ainabari, died on Sunday while fishing with a current in a nearby pond.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Khagendra Bahadur Khadka, Spokesperson of District Police Office, said that he was working at Mainali Hate paper buying and selling center located in Haldibari-4 and died on the spot due to electrocution.
Similarly, the dead body of a woman was found in Palia river located in Mechinagar Municipality-7 of the district. On Sunday morning, the body of a 50-55-year-old woman was found drowned in the river, and the identity of the deceased has not yet been identified, police said.
