The siblings of Yangwarak-1 Changthapu, who have been missing for five days, have been found dead. Their bodies were found in the river of Yangwarak-1 on Tuesday.
Shishir, a 9-year-old son of local Birkh Rai, and his 6-year-old sister, Nanuma, were out of touch since Friday morning. According to Rajendra Khaling, the president of Yangwarak-1, they used to live with their grandparents in their house above the full basic school in Puan.
They came to stay at their father's house under the school on the evening of July 14th. After they did not find their father when they arrived home, they were staying at the house of their neighbor Kalam Bantawa.
While searching for four days continuously, the bodies of both were found dead in the river on Tuesday morning, said Ward President Rai.
According to DSP Kaushal Kumar Budhathoki, Chief of District Police Office Panchthar, the locals along with the team of Police Station Changthapu and District Police Office Panchthar searched for the missing children.
"The bodies of the two who were said to be missing have been found in the river, the investigation is ongoing," he said. He also said that preparations are being made to bring their dead bodies to the district hospital for post-mortem.
